The Turcoman Azerbaijanis of Iraq are thought to number 2.5 million and though some outreach work is going on amongst them, the numbers of believers amongst them is thought to be merely a handful.

In their history, as with their Republic-based Azerbaijani brothers, there is thought to have been considerable numbers of believers many centuries ago, and a specific part of Kirkuk allocated to them as believers. These believers fled to neighboring countries under persecution.

The City of Nineveh was part of the area that now is home ot the Turcoman and we can pray that once again the word of the Lord will be heard and responded to in these great cities.

One important thing to understand is that as speakers of Azerbaijani/Turkiish/Kurdish/and Arabic, the Turcoman people are highly significant in any outreach to the surrounding nations for the cultural and linguistic affinity they have with other Islamic people groups.
