Of the over 40 million Azerbaijanis, only .02% (or roughly 7-10,000) know Jesus Christ. That should alarm us as Christians.

Azerbaijanis classify as "strategic" and "unreached" for these reasons:

• They have no way to hear and respond to the gospel (ie. no or little national church.


• They have few belivers among them.


• They are a people group who have linguistic, commercial, educational, or cultural influence over other people groups.


• There is little, or perhaps only localized, outreach or work amongst them.

However, there is a big difference between the un-reached and the un-interested. The Azerbaijanis are interested, and a strong evangelizing church among them would have the potential to reach hundreds of millions in similar language and culture groups.
